Transparency & Ethics

User preferences: Your preferred language, your allow_watch setting, watches, blacklist entries, tutor progress and saved phrases, so the bot remembers them. Your username and avatar are stored when you use /watch, /blacklist, /settings or /deletedata, or sign in to the website. Signing in also stores the names of the servers you manage.

Server settings: Server language, auto-translate mode, channel languages, glossary and the weekly summary channel for each server. They are kept after the bot is removed, so re-adding it restores them; the watches in that server are removed.

Translation logs: Each logged translation stores up to the first 500 characters of the original and translated text, the language pair, the Discord user and server IDs and the time, so you can review and export your own history from the dashboard. Free-plan logs are deleted after 90 days. Paid plans encrypt the text at rest with AES-256-GCM (the key is held on our server) and delete it sooner: after 30 days on Basic, and after as little as 1 day on the Pro plans. A Server Pro server can also turn auto-delete off, which keeps its logs until it is turned back on.

Command log: Which command was run, with any message content reduced to its length. Kept 90 days.

Other bots' posts: The bot does not translate posts made by other bots, but it counts them for each server and each bot: how many, and how many carry text. No text is kept, and nothing about people. The counts are kept 14 days, to decide whether translating those posts is worth adding.

Votes: When you vote for the bot on top.gg or discordbotlist.com, and that site reports votes to us, it sends us your Discord user ID. We keep the time of your last vote there, so /vote can show when you last voted, and how many times you have voted there. Deleted 90 days after your last vote. /vote says which sites report votes.

Free week offers: A server admin who looked at the Server plans and did not buy may get one DM offering a free week of Server Basic for that server. We keep one record per server of who was offered it, which plan they looked at, the dates and the answer, so no server or person is offered it twice. /deletedata removes your user ID from that record and withdraws an offer you have not answered yet. A free week does not delete anything early: the server's stored translations are encrypted but not deleted on a schedule during the week, and the free rule applies again when it ends.

Usage alerts: Every 10 minutes the bot counts the last hour of logged translations and compares it with the 14 days before, so the developer hears privately about an unusual spike. The alert carries counts and the server's name and ID, never message text or who wrote it. Only the time and count of the last alert are kept.

Aggregate statistics: The website's public statistics show counts and language pairs, never message content. While a plan, or a free week of one, is on, your translations are left out of the translation counts and language pairs; the user, watcher and tutor totals still count you.

What we DON'T store: Voice, attachments, or the text of messages the bot did not translate. The bot's own logs do not contain message text.

/settings privacy allow_watch:False: Turn off being watched. It removes your watchers in every server and stops anyone from watching you.

/blacklist: Block a specific user from watching you in this server.

/watchers: See who watches you.

/unwatch: Stop watching someone at any time.

/deletedata: Erase your profile, history, settings, watches, tutor progress, saved phrases, reviews, contributions, command logs and vote records. It refuses while you have an active Personal plan; cancel in the billing portal first.
