2. Message Content Handling
This is the most important section. Here's exactly what happens to your messages:
2.1 Translation Processing
- Messages are sent to Google Translate API for translation
- Translations are cached temporarily (up to 24 hours) to improve performance
- The cache uses hashed identifiers, not the original text
2.2 Translation Logging

🔐 Premium Encryption
Premium users receive a unique 256-bit encryption key. Your translations are encrypted before storage, and only you have access to the decryption key. We cannot read your encrypted translations.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and maintain translation services
- Process and fulfill your requests
- Send translation notifications (e.g., watcher DMs)
- Improve our services and user experience
- Generate anonymous aggregate statistics
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in these cases:
- Google Translate API: Message content is sent for translation processing
- Stripe: Payment information for premium subscriptions (we don't store payment details)
- Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

You have the right to:
- Access: View your data through the User Dashboard
- Export: Download your translation history as CSV
- Delete: Request deletion of your data by contacting us
- Opt-out: Use /private to prevent others from watching you

- AES-256 encryption for premium user translation storage

7. Children's Privacy
Discord Translator is not intended for users under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by Discord in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.

- Key regeneration (note: old data becomes unreadable)
