Translate channels automatically
Auto-translate posts a translation under each message, never into the language it was written in. You choose: the whole server into one language, or chosen channels into their own languages.
You need
- Manage Server for /server, Manage Channels for /channel.
Pick a mode
Everywhere/server autotranslatemode: All channels (default)
Every channel into the server language, set with /server languagelang: English.
Chosen channels/server autotranslatemode: Only configured channels (/channel translate)
Only channels you give a language.
Off/server autotranslatemode: Off (watcher DMs only)
Nothing on its own. Right-click, flags and /translate still work.
Give a channel its languages
Add a language/channel translatelanguage: Germanchannel: #general
Run it again to add another. Free: 2 a channel. Server plans: 8.
A whole category/channel categorycategory: Communitylanguage: German
Remove/channel disablechannel: #generallanguage: German
Leave out language: to turn the channel off completely.
Check it works
- /channel list shows every channel with its languages.
- /server view shows the mode.
If something is off
A channel with its own languages ignores the server language.
That is on purpose: a channel given languages with /channel translate translates into those, in either mode.
Nothing happens in a new server.
It is listening to the first messages to learn the server language. /server language decides it now.
Everyone writes English and the bot is quiet.
Messages are never translated into their own language. Add a second language to the channel if you want one.
