Voice calls across languages: gaming groups and clans

Your group plays together but does not share a language. Each person says once which language they speak. From then on, every sentence shows up translated in the chat about two seconds later, and the bot can say it out loud in the call.

PremiumAdmin once, then everyone10 minutes

You need

The admin, once

Make the voice channel translate/voice channel setchannel: Squadinto: Englishalso_into: Spanishcaptions: #squad-chatspeak: True

The bot joins when someone who set their language comes in, and leaves when the channel empties (Server plan).

Or start it by hand/voice joininto: Englishspeak: True

Run it from inside the call. /voice leave stops it.

Invite people/voice invitemember: @Maja

They get a button by DM and decide for themselves.

Everyone who talks, once

Say what you speak/voice languagelanguage: Swedish

This is your yes. Nobody is listened to until they do this, and /voice stop ends it.

Pick your voice/voice voicestyle: Femalespeed: Slower

Then hear it with /voice preview.

During the call

Read along privately/voice follow

Every line comes to you in your language, for 15 minutes a press.

Turn the voices down/voice speakvolume: 30

10 to 100 percent, 40 by default.

Just the translation/voice captionsoriginal: False

Hides the original line under each caption.

Bigger calls

Everyone hears their own language

In a call where only a few people need translation, the bot speaking out loud makes everyone hear every language. The Translator Activity: everyone hears the call in their own language gives each person their own language, in their own ear.

Example, with demo names
DT
Translator BOT
Maja (Swedish to English): Push left, they are on the bridge.
Tryck vänster, de är på bron.

Check it works

If something is off

Somebody is never captioned.
Only people who ran /voice language are listened to. Send them /voice invitemember: @Maja.
The bot did not join by itself.
A voice channel starts on its own only on a Server plan, and only when someone who set their language joins. With a Personal plan, use /voice join.
I hear captions but no voice for one language.
84 of 110 languages have a spoken voice; the rest are captioned only. /voice languages lists them.
Some spoken lines are skipped.
When more than three sentences wait, the oldest spoken ones are skipped so the call stays current. Captions still post every line.
